Innovations at first hand! Details about the winners can be found here! Back in , I was able to take part in the Innovation Award ceremony and was subsequently invited to join the jury by Messe Stuttgart. It was really exciting working in a group of experts from all sectors: sun shading, doors, roller shutters, automation, architecture and the press.
From experts to master craftsmen to business people all genders are included! The majority of the products submitted are of equally high quality, from technical details and sustainable developments to design.
The selection and evaluation process was more time-consuming than I had expected, because the aim is to really understand the products and their innovative power. Therefore, all the innovations submitted were discussed intensively several times before finally being assessed by the jury.
It's impressive what new ideas we can come up with as sun shading specialists. We always have our vision in mind: Particularly in times of climate change, buildings only become liveable with the proper automated sun shading systems. My work on the jury once again gave me deep and exciting insights into current topics and the innovative strength of the industry.
I found the very different perspectives of the jury members on the various products very enriching. After intensive discussions, we always came to a clear vote in the end. We often all agree when a product is simply ingenious or ingeniously simple. The winners also attract a lot of attention from our readers - even outside the trade fair. It is absolutely exciting to be able to look at the latest innovations shortly before the world's leading trade fair and to discuss them in depth with industry colleagues.
